“That Asian Girl Print”

It’s funny, I still get calls from customers looking for “that asian girl print” (their description, not ours.)  We ran this design as a cross promo with American Apparel back in 2006.  When distributing these tees at shows or in mailers the response was crazy.  Most thought that it was a sublimation print or DTG, but not a screen print, no way.  Truthfully, it was not easy.  We were using thermal film output at 85 LPI and running entry-level presses, but great mesh, properly tensioned screens, great seps (thanks Mark!), a custom ink set, and some tweaking on press saved the day.  I think we could do better today but the few remaining samples that I have still get wows out of customers and printers alike.  These photos don’t do justice…
