TBT: Not really, but sort of…

We’re pretty high-tech around here (well, at least by textile screen-printing standards).  I’d love to say that our screen coating methodology follows suit and show off pics or video of a bitchin’ auto-coater, but I can’t.  When it comes to screen coating, we still do it the old school way.  It’s not that I don’t want an auto-coater, I think it would be an overall improvement in quality and efficiency and it would look good too.  It’s just that I can’t quite justify the cost/benefit.  The old school way just works for us and I will put our printing results up against almost any other shop.

In this video, Production Artist Paul (formerly of our Screen Dept) shows how it’s done and offers his very practical reasoning behind the method.
