These days your cellphone is one of the main tools you need in repairing your machinery. Where formerly you stuck your head in some horrible inaccessible place and tried to read some serial number with a burning hot light next to you, now you can take a photo and with the flash and a good camera lens you can take a great photo, enlarge it and read the serial number or part number better than you could have done previously with that part sitting in your hand.
You can get into dark inaccessible places in your machines and you can:
– get part numbers
– take photos of parts for identification
– document how things are hooked up to check after you make replacements
– video or photograph problems with your machine to share remotely with repair folks
Absolutely! Nothing like having to crawl beside a running compressor in hot, humid New Orleans to look at a part number during a busy shift. My eyes are not what they used to be haha.
